After his freshman year at Evansville, he pitched for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod League.  After his junior season in 2014, the Philadelphia Phillies selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft. In 2014, he played for both the Grand Junction Rockies and the Asheville Tourists. He had a combined 3-0 record with a 1.15 ERA for both clubs. He began his 2015 season with Grand Junction.
