Career Highlights

Jones was the first overall choice in the 1990 Major League Baseball draught by the Atlanta Braves. For this club, Chipper signed a deal with a $275,000 signing bonus. He commenced his career with the Macon Braves in 1991 and eventually went on to the Durham Bulls in 1992. Chipper made his team debut as the youngest player on September 11, 1993. Because of an injury in his left knee, he was forced to miss the whole 1994 season. He topped all big league rookies in 1995 upon his rehabilitation. He also played in the 1995 World Series, as his club defeated the Cleveland Indians in six games.
