He starred in the music videos for “You Oughta Know,” “All I Really Want,” and “You Learn” by Alanis Morissette. He also made an appearance on Alanis Morissette’s VHS/DVD Jagged Little Pill, Live (1997).

Taylor Hawkins, who plays drums for the Foo Fighters, is also a talented rock vocalist, guitarist, and pianist. His first lead vocal performance with the band was a version of Pink Floyd’s “Have a Cigar.” The song was published in two versions: one as a b-side to “Learn to Fly” and another on the Mission: Impossible 2 soundtrack CD.

Taylor Hawkins also sang the lead vocals for the band’s performance of Joe Walsh’s “Life of Illusion.” He most recently provided lead vocals on the Foo Fighters’ 2017 album Concrete and Gold’s tune “Sunday Rain.” Hawkins sings lead vocals on at least one cover song throughout many Foo Fighters live gigs.

Taylor Hawkins has stated that legendary rock drummers have most inspired his drumming. Phil Collins of Genesis, Stewart Copeland of The Police, Roger Taylor of Queen, Stephen Perkins of Jane’s Addiction, Jim Gordon of Derek and the Dominos, and Neil Peart of Rush are among his key influences. He was a guest editor for Rhythm once when he interviewed Collins, Copeland, Taylor, and Perkins for the issue.
