Japanese modern artist Takashi was born on February 1st, 1962. He has always loved manga and anime (both hand-drawn and computer-animated). He went to “Tokyo University Of Arts” to learn the drafting techniques required to become an animator, but ended up majoring in Nihonga (Japanese paintings from about 1900 onwards respectively). Murakami graduated from Tokyo University of Arts with a BA, MFA, and Ph.D.

He started the Hiropan Factory, a studio, and workshop, in 1996. Over the years, it developed into Kaikai Kiki Co, Ltd, an organization that produces art and manages artists. Murakami was disappointed in the status of modern art in Japan since he believed it should be deeply appreciated and in line with western fashion trends. His famed films My Lonesome Cowboy (1998) and Hiropon are among his best works of art (1997). The sculpture depicts a naked anime character with a blonde hairstyle and spikes that are encircled by a spiraling trail of sperm.
