Career and Achievements
Sarita began her career as a long jump and triple jump competitor in 2005. She realized after years of attempting to establish herself that it is not her forte. Sarita was then selected to compete in the hammer throw event in the All India University Games on behalf of her colleagues. She earned the silver medal, securing her Group C position with Western Railways.
With a throw of 63.28m, Sarita won gold at the Guwahati Inter State Championships in 2018. Sarita represented India in the 2017 Asian Championships, finishing fourth and just missing out on a medal. Sarita represented India at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018, finishing fifth. Her domestic results were strong, as she won another gold medal in the Patiala Federation Cup with a throw of 63.80m.
Sarita took the transfer to Moradabad’s northern railway DRM office. Sarita broke the qualifying standard for this year’s Commonwealth Games and Asian Games at the Federation Cup in Kozhikode on April 6, 2022, with a throw of 64.16m.
