Nishant Sindhu Personal Life/Early Life

Sunil Kumar Sindhu, Nishant Sindhu’s father, is a former state-level boxer. Kumar was a state-level fighter for Haryana, but a lack of family support caused him to hang up his boxing gloves. His father was taken aback when 3-year-old Nishant Sindhu jumped with delight after India won the T20 World Cup in South Africa under MS Dhoni in 2007.

The next day, he gave him a plastic bat, which is when he found another aspect of his son: he is a left-handed player. Nishant Sindhu Career Highlights

Kumar enrolled Nishant at the Shri Ram Narain Cricket Academy, which is headed by Ashwani Kumar, a former Haryana first-class cricketer, and coach. Sindhu rose to prominence in 2017 after he hit 290 runs and took 24 wickets for Haryana in the U-14 Dhruv Pandove Trophy in Patiala.

He was soon promoted to the Haryana U-16 squad, where he scored 280 runs and grabbed 16 wickets in the 2017-18 Vijay Merchant Trophy. Sindhu’s finest performance came in the 2018-19 Vijay Merchant Trophy when he scored 572 runs and took 23 wickets. Haryana beat Jharkhand in the final to win the title under his captaincy. The Vijay Merchant Trophy victory aided his selection to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

The Covid-19 epidemic raged on in March 2020, and Sindhu, like hundreds of other young aspiring cricketers in India, was left disillusioned. But his father, who had inspired him from infancy, set up a makeshift gym on their balcony and asked his buddy, fitness trainer Anand Maiana, to make time for his son. Nishant Sindhu, a spin-bowling all-rounder, led Haryana to victory in the U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy in 2021, the state’s first U-19 trophy in 19 years.

Haryana did not lose a single game in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, and Sindhu made an impression with both the bat and the ball. In addition to 299 runs at 37.38, the left-arm spinner took 12 wickets at a fantastic average of 13.16.

Nishant Sindhu was picked to the India U19 A squad for the BCCI’s triangular series, which also includes the Bangladesh U19 team, in November 2021. Nishant Sindhu was named to the India U-19 squad for the Asia Cup and U19 World Cup 2022 as a team player rather than a captain.

Following a Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp, he went on to captain India in two games against Ireland and Uganda in the ICC U19 World Cup 2022. VVS Laxman and Co. transferred the captaincy badge to Nishant Sindhu while captain Yash Dhull and vice-captain Shaik Rasheed were both isolated. Nishant Sindhu later tested positive and was forced to miss the quarter-final match against Bangladesh. Nishant recovered from the COVID19 and was able to join the team for the semifinals versus Australia.
