Career Highlights

Narendra Modi joined the BJP in 1985 and was chosen as the Party’s Gujarat Unit’s Organizing Secretary in 1988. He later ran in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections and gave the party its first-ever victory. Later, in 1990, he assisted in the execution of L.K. Advani’s Ayodhya Rath Yatra, following which his talents were widely acknowledged inside the party.

Modi was instrumental in increasing the BJP’s presence in Gujarat.
