Mamadou Malang William Georges Sarr professionally known as Malang Sarr is a French professional footballer who plays as a defender for Premier League club Chelsea. In 2005, he joined Nice’s youth team and began his professional career there. He spent the next 12 years in the club’s youth system before making his Ligue 1 debut on August 14, 2016. He has made 119 appearances for Nice, scoring three goals and providing three assists in all competitions. He signed a five-year contract with Chelsea on a free transfer on August 27, 2020. On October 6, 2020, he joined the Portuguese club Porto FC on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 season, making 27 appearances and scoring two goals in all competitions. His loan plans to Germany, Italy, and France were apparently crumbling for the 2021-22 season, so he chose to stay at Chelsea and was subsequently assigned the number 31 shirt. He made his Chelsea debut in the EFL Cup on September 22, 2021.
